Being diagnosed with osteoarthritis isn’t the end of your story. Here at Wolper, we help patients take back control and live life to their fullest. We offer small group sessions and dedicated one-on-one care for individuals at every stage of their treatment.

Here, you’ll find a supportive environment, professional expertise, and evidence-based treatments that will guide your road to pain relief and better mobility. Our osteoarthritis services also focus on building your confidence by addressing the emotional challenges of chronic pain. We work alongside you to develop self-management strategies to equip you with the knowledge and tools to maintain your progress long-term.

Our Osteoarthritis Rehabilitation Programs

Depending on your specific circumstances, we offer a wide variety of services to help you return to your best self. Each of our rehabilitation programs starts with an individual analysis to assess the best program for you. Together with our multidisciplinary team of experts, we will develop a treatment approach that incorporates manual therapy, strength conditioning, hydrotherapy and education. Our programs use specialised equipment to ensure every session targets the specific muscles and movements needed for daily living.

We offer a range of services that cover every aspect of osteoarthritis care, including:

For therapy continuity and maintenance, we recommend our MoveWell Exercise Program which is supervised by our wonderful team of exercise physiologists or physiotherapists. These guided sessions run for approximately 45 minutes, in small group settings where you can connect with others on a similar journey while building strength and flexibility.

Our MoveWell program includes:

MoveStrong class: Focuses on strengthening and conditioning by utilising circuit format exercises with machines and free weights to build whole body strength and improve fitness.

MoveSteady class:  Designed for balance, flexibility, and fall prevention, targeting leg strength and posture, which is perfect for those who rely on walking sticks/frames.

AquaMove classes: Water-based exercises that focus on increasing and maintaining body strength, flexibility, and function to support the body and reduce the impact of daily life on joints and bones.

The Benefits of Osteoarthritis Services

Success in our osteoarthritis pain management programs looks different for everybody. Some may look to regain full mobility, while others aim to manage their symptoms without surgery. We’re here to help you achieve the outcomes that matter most in your daily life. While some benefits appear within weeks, the skills and strategies you learn can carry you through the rest of your journey with confidence.

Some of the biggest benefits from our osteoarthritis services that we see in our patients include:

  • Reduced stiffness, joint pain, and deconditioning
  • More muscle strength and joint stability
  • Improved flexibility and range of motion
  • Decreased pain and reliance on pain medication
  • Improved social connections through group classes
  • Less frustration with daily limitations
  • Improved confidence with managing chronic pain

What to Expect from Our Osteoarthritis Services

With us, you’ll receive a structured approach to your treatment. First, we complete an initial assessment, which includes an in-depth medical review, physical evaluation, and a one-on-one discussion about your goals and motivations. Once we have a detailed understanding, we’ll work to design a program that incorporates exercise physiology or physiotherapy for strength and balance, hydrotherapy sessions in our heated pool, and occupational therapy to help you manage everyday tasks.

As you progress through your treatment plan, we’ll adapt your sessions to match your pace of recovery. Inpatients receive therapy 7 days a week with twice-daily sessions. Day rehabilitation programs involve twice-weekly sessions that vary in length from 3-6 weeks, depending on the participant.

No matter your session frequency, we offer emotional support and guidance through every step.
