Deputy Director of Clinical Services/ Manager Medical Ward
With over 30 years of nursing experience, Andrew joined Wolper in June 2013 as a Registered Nurse on the Medical Ward. In January 2014, he was promoted to Deputy Director of Clinical Services (DDCS). In this leadership role, Andrew supports the Director of Clinical Services by providing both professional and operational oversight of nursing services across the Hospital.
Andrew also serves as Wolper’s Infection Control Coordinator, a critical role that involves developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control strategies across the Hospital. He ensures that best practices are followed to minimise the risk of healthcare-associated infections, provides staff training on hygiene protocols, and leads the Hospital’s response to infectious disease outbreaks. His work is essential to maintaining a safe environment for both patients, visitors, and staff.
In addition to his broader responsibilities as DDCS and Infection Control Coordinator, Andrew also oversees the day-to-day management of the Medical Ward. He leads a multidisciplinary team providing medical rehabilitation and palliative care, ensuring high-quality, compassionate service for our patients.
Before joining Wolper, Andrew worked at St Vincent’s Public Hospital in Sydney, building on earlier clinical experience gained in Tasmania.
