Vale Tibor Weitzen & Edith Brutman

Tibor Weitzen Zt’l, together with his wife Eva, was a valued recipient of a grant from the Wolper Jewish Hospital Health Foundation, supporting their wonderful organisation Friends of Refugees of Eastern Europe (F.R.E.E.). Their program brought elderly Russian-speaking members of the Jewish community together for weekly gatherings, fostering connection, warmth and a strong sense of belonging.

Tibor was a devoted and much-loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an active member of the Bondi Chabad Synagogue and was attending their Chanukah celebration at Bondi Beach when his life was cruelly taken.

Edith Brutman A”h was also a loved member of F.R.E.E. and, more recently, served as Vice President of an anti-prejudice and anti-discrimination committee at B’nai B’rith NSW. Edith was also a regular participant in Wolper’s programs. Her life was also tragically taken in the Bondi Beach attack. We will miss her participation in classes and she will be remembered fondly by her instructors Darsh and Andrea.

We extend our deepest sympathies to the Brutman and Weitzen families. We wish them a long life. May Edith and Tibor’s memories forever be a blessing.
